Broccoli with Onion-Jack Sauce
Easy to prepare broccoli in cheese sauce side dish.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups low-fat or whole milk
- 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 3 pounds fresh broccoli, coarsely chopped
Directions
Melt butter in medium saucepan on medium heat. Add onion. Cook until tender, about 8 minutes.
Stir in flour. Add milk. Bring to boil. Cook and stir 1 minute. Reduce heat to medium-low. Stir in cheese until melted.
Meanwhile, cook broccoli until crisp-tender. Drain well. Place broccoli in shallow serving dish and top with onion sauce.
