All-American Corn Bread, Apple and Sausage Stuffing

Sausage, apples, celery and onions team up with corn bread for a true all-American favorite.

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Spray 13×9-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Set aside.

  2. Brown sausage in large skillet on medium-high heat, stirring occasionally to crumble sausage; drain. Set aside. Wipe skillet with paper towels.

  3. Melt butter in same skillet on medium heat. Add onions and celery. Cook and stir 5 minutes.

  4. Stir in apples. Cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in walnuts (if using), ginger, salt and pepper. Remove from heat.

  5. Place corn bread stuffing crumbs in large bowl. Stir in sausage and vegetable mixture. Add cider and broth, stirring until well blended. Spoon into prepared baking dish.

  6. Bake 25 to 30 minutes, or until heated through (165°F)
